El detenido se hallaba alojado en la seccional desde el 30 de abril de este año por el delito de Abuso Sexual Simple. Según declaraciones de otros reos, alrededor de las 01:30 horas, el hombre habría sufrido un ataque cardíaco, por lo que se desvaneció al borde de su cama.
De manera inmediata, los efectivos entraron al pabellón y lo trasladaron hasta el Hospital Nivel III de San Vicente, ingresando sin signos vitales. El médico policial de turno, constató su deceso y ordenó la autopsia médico-legal para determinar las causas de la muerte.
El cuerpo fue llevado a la morgue judicial y por el caso tomó intervención el Juzgado de Instrucción Nro. 3 de San Vicente que inició actuaciones judiciales. Asimismo, en el lugar la policía científica realizó tareas periciales.
