Con tan solo cuatro años, Nicolás Reinsch visitaba museos y veterinarias, junto a su tía, a la salida del colegio. De perros a reptiles, su interés por los animales fue en aumento. Hoy, con 33 años, rescata animales y comparte sus conocimientos acerca de especies exóticas en sus redes sociales.
“Arranqué a los 4 años cuando mi tía me llevaba al Museo de Ciencias Naturales e Historia Antonio Ruiz de Montoya. Mi interés surge por todos los animales, pero se fue volcando a los reptiles que me parecían más raros“, contó Reinsch a canal12misiones.com. Además, recordó que a la salida del colegio siempre iba a la veterinaria para observar los animales y sus comportamientos.
Con el paso del tiempo, su interés por las especies fue en incremento. De pequeño, el rescatista tenía perros como mascotas. Más adelante adquirió culebras chicas. Este fue su inicio e interés por conocer la vida de las serpientes, uno los reptiles predominantes en la fauna misionera. Hoy en día, además, tiene diversos animales exóticos en su casa.
Reinsch se formó a través del intercambio de conocimientos con profesionales del área. Al respecto, destacó que con el uso de las redes sociales “es más fácil conocer gente en el tema y consultarles sobre el mundo animal”. Además, se instruyó durante las visitas que realizó al museo, con personas idóneas y por medio de la lectura. Hoy en día indaga en internet. En la actualidad, se desempeña como encargado de la veterinaria Amazonas, rescatista y conservacionista.
Rescatar y concientizar, dos aspectos claves
En cuanto a sus inicios como rescatista, Reinsch explicó que comenzó hace 10 años. Al conocer sobre serpientes, “siempre me preguntaban qué hacer o me llamaban cuando encontraban alguna. Compartía esos momentos en Instagram y la gente se se copó. Muchos lo valoran porque hay un mal concepto sobre las serpientes, se piensa que atacarán repentinamente”, relató. Al mismo tiempo aseguró que, actualmente, accionar con conciencia cuando se encuentra una serpiente es más habitual.
El proceso de rescate de la especie conlleva distintos momentos. “La idea es tratar de encontrarla, rescatarla y llevarla a algún lugar de reinserción. Lo recomendable es que traten de sacarle una foto a la serpiente apenas la ven, para saber si es venenosa o no. No es fácil la identificación. Las culebras son más diurnas y no son peligrosas. Las venenosas son más de hábitos nocturnos”, explicó.
En Misiones se trabaja en la preservación de especies como serpientes, yaguaretés y ocelotes. Nicolás Reinsch es uno de los encargados en difundir información acerca del cuidado de la fauna regional. A través de sus redes sociales, el rescatista fomenta cómo actuar ante la presencia de estos animales.
