Gabriel Cardozo, posadeño de 22 años, no pudo ignorar este llamado y se enlistó en la Embajada de Ucrania en la Argentina como voluntario para colaborar con las Fuerzas Armadas de ese país. “Somos un grupo de compatriotas de todo el país, todos argentinos, algunos descendientes de ucranianos, que decidimos unirnos al Ejército ucraniano para repeler el ataque ruso”, contó Cardozo
El joven, que se dedica a la música y además es técnico en refrigeración y electricista, expresó que cuando escuchó el llamado que hicieron a los extranjeros que quieran sumarse a la batalla se comunicó con la Embajada de Ucrania en Buenos Aires, donde le facilitaron una dirección de correo electrónico a la cual debía escribir para manifestar sus ganas de ir como voluntario.
“Nos enviaron una lista con todos los requisitos, documentos y las aptitudes que necesitamos para formar parte de este voluntariado, enviamos como una especie de currículum vitae donde especificamos lo que sabemos y lo que estudiamos”, detalló.
Indicó que algo en común que tienen los argentinos que integran esa lista es que poseen una noción sobre el manejo de armas de fuego, conocimientos en primeros auxilios, técnicas de reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) y de supervivencia.
“He hecho prácticas de tiro, hice cursos de supervivencia y primeros auxilios y siempre me interesó la vida miliciana. Hay mucha gente retirada de la Policía Federal diciendo que quiere ir”, reveló. Y apuntó que “si mi país en algún momento necesita las manos armadas de sus compatriotas, seré el primero en estar en esas filas para defender a mi patria, ahora lo quiero hacer por un país tan sufrido como Ucrania”.
“Estamos hablando de ir hacia Varsovia en Polonia, para poder movilizarnos por tierra hasta la frontera ucraniana. Buscamos gente que nos pueda dar una mano para patrocinar esto, ya sean figuras políticas, periodistas, canales de televisión, radios o diarios que nos puedan dar una mano para solventar ese gasto”, explicó.
Aclaró que no buscan dinero y que nada más piden que nos ayuden a costear el vuelo. “Desde la Embajada de Ucrania nos dijeron que cuando lleguemos allá nos van a dar provisiones, casa, ropa, entrenamiento y un curso rápido del idioma. Hay mucha gente que habla español, muchos argentinos, colombianos, si hay que volver haremos cualquier cosa, nada más necesitamos que nos ayuden a llegar”, agregó. A todo esto, el joven se dirigió a aquellos que los critican por tomar esta riesgosa decisión, y sostuvo que “nosotros no hacemos caso al no se metan y queremos dar una mano al más débil, sin importar si salimos heridos”.
“No somos superhéroes y necesitamos ayuda para ayudar, tengo en la mente que lo único que necesita el mal para triunfar es que los hombres buenos no hagan nada. Si podemos poner nuestras manos lo vamos a hacer para pelear por la libertad”, afirmó.
