Macron cree que «lo peor está por venir» en Ucrania
El presidente francés, Emmanuel Macron, cree que «lo peor está por venir» en el conflicto en Ucrania tras una conversación telefónica que mantuvo con su par ruso, Vladimir Putin, quien le expresó su determinación a seguir la ofensiva y que podría «tomar el control» de todo el país, informó el Palacio del Elíseo.
En una conversación que duró una hora y media, Putin afirmó a Macron que la operación rusa se desarrolla «acorde a los planes» y que podría «intensificarse» si los ucranianos no aceptan sus condiciones, informó el despacho del mandatario francés, según reprodujo la agencia de noticias AFP.
Por su parte, el servicio de prensa del Kremlim precisó que Putin le hizo saber a Macron que las dilaciones se traducirán en nuevas demandas hacia Kiev.
«Se enfatizó que los objetivos de la operación militar especial se cumplirán en cualquier caso, y los intentos de ganar tiempo prolongando las negociaciones sólo conducirán a demandas adicionales a Kiev en nuestra posición negociadora», sostiene la nota, recogida por la agencia de noticias Sputnik.
Además, el mandatario reiteró a Macron que la operación rusa busca impedir amenazas desde el territorio ucraniano.
«Se trata de la desmilitarización y el estatus de neutralidad de Ucrania, para que su territorio nunca suponga una amenaza para Rusia», según el texto.
Asimismo, el líder ruso se refirió al «papel sustancial de los neonazis ucranianos en la política estatal de Kiev».
Agregó que Rusia tiene la intención de continuar luchando contra los combatientes de formaciones nacionalistas en Ucrania que «cometen crímenes de guerra, incluida la colocación de equipos bélicos en barrios residenciales y el uso de la población civil como escudo humano».
Macron, por su parte, le dijo que estaba cometiendo «un error grave» y que su actuación no era conforme a la realidad ni podía justificar su violencia y el precio que va a pagar su país, que acabará «aislado, debilitado y bajo sanciones» durante un largo periodo de tiempo.
Por otro lado, Putin expresó su desacuerdo con el discurso pronunciado en la víspera por Macron, quien afirmó que era «mentira» que Rusia estuviera luchando contra el nazismo en Ucrania.
El líder francés insistió el miércoles que Rusia no es el país agredido sino el «agresor» y que la guerra «no es un conflicto entre la OTAN y Rusia».
Rusia anunció en la madrugada del 24 de febrero el lanzamiento de una «operación militar especial» en Ucrania alegando que las Repúblicas Populares de Donetsk y Lugansk, previamente reconocidas por Moscú como estados soberanos, necesitan ayuda frente al «genocidio» por parte de Kiev.
Uno de los objetivos fundamentales de esa operación, según Putin, es «la desmilitarización y la desnazificación» de Ucrania. El mandatario ruso pidió a uniformados y civiles en Ucrania que no opongan resistencia a esa operación, y advirtió que Rusia responderá de inmediato a cualquier fuerza externa que le amenace o se ponga en su camino.
La conversación tuvo lugar el mismo día en que están previstas nuevas negociaciones entre las delegaciones rusa y ucraniana en la región bielorrusa de Brest.
