A casi 3 años del crimen, se viralizó una carta del padre de uno de los rugbiers que fue sobreseído por la Justicia: se trata de Raúl, padre de Juan Pedro Guarino. La misma fue difundida por el propio autor en enero de 2022, a dos años del hecho.
Raúl, padre de Juan Pedro Guarino, de 21 añoa,, ya había hablado con los medios luego del crimen de Fernando, cuando había asegurado que «se hizo justicia» el día que la fiscal Verónica Zamboni decidió dejar libre a su hijo y a Alejo Milanesi. Ninguno de los dos pudo ser reconocido por los testigos y fueron sobreseídos.
Al cumplirse los dos años del crimen, el padre de uno de los entonces acusados reapareció con una fuerte carta en la que hizo una reflexión sobre el crimen de Fernando.
«Lamentablemente, esto es muy difícil para nosotros. Primero, por el respeto que le debemos a la familia Báez y después porque mi hijo no hizo nada y estamos en esta situación. Por suerte todo de a poco se va a ir acomodando. Ahora debemos resguardar a mi hijo de todo esto que tan mal le ha hecho», comenzó.
«Todo esto que nos pasó y el manejo de los medios nos destruyó sin que mi hijo haya hecho nada. Debo preservar a mi familia, somos gente de bien y debo confiar en que todo va a ir sanando. Desde el primer momento pedimos justicia y nos entregamos a la justicia. Tengo que confiar en la Justicia realmente. Por suerte, en nuestro caso la estamos teniendo. La justicia social no la podemos manejar. Ojalá que de a poco Dios nos vaya ayudando».
«Todos estos días, entre la angustia y la injusticia, me pregunto qué hacer. Soy consciente de que yo por lo menos tengo a mi hijo, pero el papá de Fernando no. Tanto yo como mi hijo fuimos transparentes desde el primer día, ya que esa es la única manera en la que hacen las cosas», recalcó.
«Imagínese el terror de tener a nuestro hijo detenido sin haber hecho nada. Pensando que lo podían ensuciar con algo. Por suerte no ocurrió. Desde un primer momento con mi mujer nos mostramos transparentes tratando de que nos vean tal cual somos y lo mismo a nuestro hijo», agregó.
Y finalizó: «Muchas gracias de todo corazón. Es el momento más difícil que me ha tocado vivir. Gracias por su comprensión y respeto».
