La diputada provincial en Santa Fe Amalia Granata se mostró a favor de volver a instaurar el Servicio Militar Obligatorio en Argentina tras el avance de la delincuencia, el desempleo y la pobreza en la que viven los jóvenes.
La iniciativa surgió a raíz de un viaje que realizó a Israel, donde la “colimba” es obligatoria tanto para hombres como para mujeres. “Encaminaría la conducta de los jóvenes en el país”, remarcó Granata al ser entrevistada por el canal LN+, quien tomó como ejemplo la excelencia educativa de ese país.
“Me encantó el servicio militar obligatorio. Me parece fabuloso”, insistió la diputada poniéndole el pecho a la polémica que podrían generar sus declaraciones.
Para Granata, es necesario dejar el pensamiento de lo que fue el viejo Servicio Militar y abordar ese entrenamiento desde una perspectiva positiva para la formación de los ciudadanos.
“Es necesario pensarlo como la formación de una conducta para que los jóvenes se levanten a las 6 de la mañana, estudien, hagan ejercicios y les enseñen un oficio. Ahora tenemos cada vez más pobreza y chicos en la calle. Primero hay que generar una conducta. Con eso podes encaminarlo hacia esa conducta y darles otro estilo de vida”, insistió.
Sorprendido por su forma de pensar, el conductor Jonatan Viale le recordó a la diputada que en Israel es obligatorio porque“es un país que vive en guerra”. Y ella le respondió: “Vení a Rosario, que hay guerra narco. Cada vez está peor. Hay balaceras y mueren personas todos los días. No hace falta ir a Ucrania para ver una guerra”.
Firme en su postura de promocionar los beneficios del entrenamiento militar en los jóvenes, la legisladora resaltó: “El de las mujeres dura dos años y el de los varones dos años y medio. Cuando lo finalizan, se toman un año sabático para irse de mochileros y a los 23 arrancan la facultad”.
Granata se mostró impactada con el nivel educativo de los jóvenes, que manejan hasta 3 idiomas. “La educación en Israel es modelo. Empecemos a tomar ejemplos de países que funcionan y no de Venezuela”, concluyó en tono irónico.
No es la primera vez que un diputado pretende volver a instalar el Servicio Militar Obligatorio. De hecho, el ahora ex diputado nacional Alfredo Olmedo también había dicho que podía servir para que los jóvenes encontraran “un lugar donde les pongan límites en el marco de un ámbito de contención y formación que les permita vivir en armonía con la comunidad”.
A diferencia de las características que mantenía el servicio militar obligatorio anteriormente, Olmedo había propuesto que el mismo debería cumplir un rol social, estando orientado a la realización de tareas comunitarias y no siendo parte de una carrera militar inconducente.
Para Olmedo, el objetivo era “reinstalar la cultura del trabajo debido a la crisis de valores en la que se encuentran los jóvenes y resaltar la institución de la familia”.
El Servicio Militar en Argentina fue obligatorio desde 1901 hasta 1994, año en el que asesinaron al conscripto Omar Carrasco tras una serie de abusos de poder y maltratos físicos y mentales, tales como los ocurridos durante la última dictadura militar.
Mientras se investigaba el crimen, el Servicio Militar Obligatorio fue derogado mediante un decreto firmado por el presidente Carlos Saúl Menem el 31 de agosto de 1994 y la implementación de un sistema de voluntariado rentado, poniendo fin de esta manera a la Ley Nº 4031 aprobada por la Cámara de Senadores el 11 de diciembre de 1901: un año en tierra y dos en la marina a los varones de 20 años.
