El Ministerio de Economía de la Argentina, anunció este miércoles un acuerdo con China que le permitirá abonar las importaciones con ese país en yuanes, activando el ‘swap’ de monedas para el intercambio bilateral. La medida se toma en el contexto de escasas reservas de dólares y una baja en la recaudación por la sequía.
El gobierno reprogramó así el instrumento de pago para las importaciones con origen en China, que “dejan de pesar sobre el flujo de salida” de dólares y “pasan a ser parte del flujo de salida de yuanes”.
El acuerdo fue firmado en el Palacio de Hacienda en Buenos Aires, con la presencia del embajador chino en Argentina, Zou Xiaoli, y banqueros y empresarios de la República Popular China.
Frente al complejo contexto internacional del 2022 para el sistema económico y financiero mundial, son varios los países que optaron por comenzar un proceso de ‘desdolarización’.
Brasil inició el camino al promover el uso del yuan para operaciones comerciales con China, habilitando pagos directamente en reales brasileños y en yuanes chinos, dejando de usar la divisa norteamericana.
Este fenómeno global tiene un mayor impulso desde que el BRICS, conformado por Brasil, Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica, anunció a finales de marzo la creación de un sistema económico alternativo que incluye una nueva moneda de reserva “fundamentalmente nueva”, según afirmó el vicepresidente de la Duma Estatal rusa, Alexánder Babakov.
Por su parte, y con el objetivo de sortear las sanciones de Occidente, Moscú ha reforzado sus acuerdos comerciales con Irán y con Pekín con la particular exclusión del dólar en sus operaciones.
Arabia Saudita, Irak, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, la India y Egipto también han estado trabajando para usar monedas alternativas en el comercio mundial, a la vez que forjan lazos económicos más profundos con las potencias emergentes en Asia para salir del Patrón Dólar.
