Invertirán más de US$ 900 millones para recuperar Tren Norpatagónico
El proyecto comprende la construcción, renovación, mejoramiento y mantenimiento de la infraestructura ferroviaria del Ferrocarril General Roca, que totaliza 653 kilómetros, y permitirá reducir costos, tiempos y desarrollar tanto el transporte de pasajeros como las cargas provenientes de la explotación hidrocarburifera de Vaca Muerta y las industrias regionales.
El Ministerio de Transporte aprobó un proyecto para rehabilitar el Corredor Patagónico del Ferrocarril General Roca en el tramo entre Bahía Blanca y la localidad neuquina de Añelo, en una inversión que totalizará más de US$ 900 millones y facilitará las explotaciones del yacimiento de hidrocarburos Vaca Muerta.
La aprobación de las obras, dispuesta a través de la resolución 408/2022 publicada este lunes en el Boletín Oficial, permitirá reducir costos, tiempos y desarrollar tanto el transporte de pasajeros como las cargas provenientes de la explotación hidrocarburifera de Vaca Muerta y las industrias regionales.
El proyecto comprende la construcción, renovación, mejoramiento y mantenimiento de la infraestructura ferroviaria del Ferrocarril General Roca correspondiente al tramo Bahía Blanca–Cipolletti–Cinco Saltos–Añelo, que totaliza 653 kilómetros.
En concreto, se construirán vías nuevas entre Cinco Saltos y Añelo (localidad donde se radica Vaca Muerta), y para el acceso al puerto Galván en Bahía Blanca.
En tanto, se intervendrá la vía existente entre Cerri, Cipolletti y Cinco Saltos, un tramo que no recibe inversiones desde hace 40 años.
Del mismo modo, las obras incluirán nuevas playas de maniobra en las terminales, la construcción de desvíos de cruce, la ejecución de un nuevo sistema de señalamiento y comunicación, y la intervención de todas las obras de arte.
También se realizarán pasos a nivel con barreras automáticas y se construirán cerramientos para aumentar la seguridad.
La obra, anunciada originalmente en 2017, significará una inversión de más de US$ 900 millones, con financiamiento proveniente de la empresa CMEC (China Machinery Engineering Corporation), además de aportes públicos y privados.
El tren tendrá un impacto positivo “en la sustentabilidad energética del país, al facilitar la explotación hidrocarburifera en Vaca Muerta, cuya demanda viene en aumento, gracias a la reducción de costos y tiempos logísticos”, según indicó la cartera conducida por Alexis Guerrera en un comunicado.
Asimismo, “favorecerá el desarrollo integral de la región” ya que permitirá “mejorar la conectividad para los pasajeros entre las provincias y las ciudades”, contribuyendo y potenciando así “a las economías regionales”.
Se espera que el proyecto producirá un aumento de la carga transportada a través del ferrocarril, reduciendo los tiempos de viaje y disminuyendo los incidentes viales al reducir el paso de tránsito pesado en las rutas.
Durante el primer trimestre de 2022, los trenes de cargas en el país despacharon un récord 1.676.102 de toneladas, un crecimiento del 15% respecto al mismo periodo de 2021 y un 74% respecto al 2019, según datos de la Comisión Nacional de Regulación del Transporte (CNRT).
Las obras del tren Norpatagónico serán coordinadas y articuladas entre Nación y las provincias de Río Negro y Neuquén y, en ese marco, se creó la Unidad de Coordinación del Proyecto Norpatagónico para “planificar, supervisar y monitorear todas las acciones y medidas vinculadas al proyecto”.
