En las playas de El Brete y Costa Sur se celebrará la Semana del Guardavidas
El 14 de febrero se celebra el Día Nacional del Guardavida. Este día se fijó para conmemorar lo sucedido el 4 de febrero de 1978, cuando un socorrista perdió la vida mientras rescataba a un bañista en Mar del Plata. En las playas posadeñas se brindará homenaje a todos los socorristas de la ciudad con diferentes actividades durante toda la semana.
Se realizarán clases de rescate acuático y RCP, prevención del ahogamiento, primeros auxilios y simulacro. La convocatoria es abierta para toda la comunidad y no requerirán inscripción previa. El reconocimiento se extenderá hasta el domingo 19 de febrero.
La profesión de guardavidas o salvavidas requiere una persona entrenada para vigilar, prevenir y atender casos de urgencia, brindar inmediatamente los primeros auxilios necesarios. En Posadas una persona que dejó una huella imborrable en la actividad fue Mauro Bacigaluppi, fue el primer guardavida que falleció en servicio. Fue uno de los egresados de la Escuela de Misiones. Es por eso que en su memoria y en la de todos los que arriesgan su vida para salvar la de otros, este 14 de febrero se les brindará un homenaje.

¿Por qué se celebra hoy el Día del Guardavidas?
El 4 de febrero de 1978 en Playa Grande, Mar del Plata perdió la vida el rescatista Guillermo Volpe mientras rescataba a un bañista, sufrió un infarto en plena actividad. A raíz del trágico hecho, en su memoria se comenzó a conmemorar el Día del Guardavidas. Se celebraba el 4 de febrero, pero en el 2011 se cambió la fecha al 14.
El Sindicato Único de Guardavidas y Afines de la República Argentina (Sugara) decidió fijar el 14 de febrero como fecha para celebrar el día, debido a que no era adecuado festejar en el aniversario de fallecimiento de un colega. En tanto, el Sindicato de Guardavidas y Afines de General Pueyrredón, que comprende la zona de Mar Del Plata, decidió mantener el 4 de febrero como el día para homenajear a sus guardavidas.
Siguen abierta las inscripciones
Hasta el 23 de febrero se encuentran abiertas las inscripciones en la Escuela Municipal de Guardavidas. Quienes deseen ser parte del curso, que tiene una duración de un año, deben ser mayores de 18 años, con secundario completo y saber nadar los estilos crol y pecho.
Las inscripciones son gratuitas, solo deben ingresar al sitio https://posadasdeportes.webnode.page y rellenar el formulario.
