DelRecuerdo | Un pozo de agua con más de 3 siglos de historia
El histórico pozo, último vestigo de la primitiva estancia jesuítica de San Antonio
El equipamiento de aquella estancia contaba con una capillita que llevaba por nombre «San Antonio», corrales, un cementerio, y un pozo de agua para el abastecimiento de la estancia. A principios del siglo XX los restos de la capilla aún existían, así como también los restos del muro de piedra que marcaba el lugar del antiguo cementerio. Así lo cuenta el P. Federico Vogt en su libro publicado en 1922 sobre la colonización polaca en Misiones.
A finales del siglo XIX y antes de la llegada de los inmigrantes ucranio y polacos a Azara, el lugar fue ocupado por Don César Olguín, quien tenía una estancia ganadera en el lugar. El viejo pozo de agua de origen jesuítico con la importancia que tenía determinó que el casco de la estancia de Olguín con su casa y galpones se estableciera alrededor de aquél pozo que aseguraba el abastecimiento de agua para los pobladores de la estancia, en su mayoría correntinos y brasileños. En un viejo plano de mensura de la colonia de Azara, fechado en 1902, aparece en el lugar el nombre de «César Olguín» y también aparecen marcados los galpones de la estancia.
Con la llegada de los inmigrantes polacos y ucranios entre los año 1901 y 1902, Cesar Olguín y los pobladores que estaban asentados en el lugar son desplazados y sobre el sitio se hace el trazado de la planta urbana del Pueblo de Azara. Entonces, con el trazado de las manzanas y calles, el histórico pozo de agua quedó situado en una de las veredas de una de las manzanas del pueblo. En los primeros tiempos de la colonización siguió sirviendo para el abastecimiento de agua de los primeros inmigrantes y pobladores del nuevo pueblo y colonia de Azara, hasta quedar en desuso.
Y allí quedó y persiste resistiendo el paso del tiempo, como testigo mudo de siglos de historia transcurridos en el lugar.
