La cadena de supermercados propiedad del grupo del formoseño Ricardo Cáceres tiene prevista la apertura de su octavo local para este 2022.
La última vez que California levantó las persianas de una nueva boca fue a comienzos del 2017. Ahora, en esta primera mitad del 2022, la cadena del grupo Cáceres tiene prevista una apertura en Posadas. Si bien la fecha de inauguración todavía no está definida, Ricardo “Pilo” Cáceres, quien habló con el sitio especializado Trade & Retail, prevé que se concretará entre mayo y junio.
“Se fueron dando las cosas y tuvimos la oportunidad de conseguir un local que está bien ubicado, entonces decidimos abrir la octava sucursal“, explica el propietario de la firma sobre la decisión de reactivar la expansión territorial después de cinco años.
Cáceres, quien compró la mayoría de las acciones de California hace casi tres años, no deja de pensar en la expansión y destaca que en las ventas en Misiones, pese a la pandemia, se sostuvieron mejor que en las otras provincias donde también tiene supermercados, Corrientes, Chaco y Formosa.
California, que ya cuenta con 1.025 empleados, podría ampliar su planta de personal en 2022 y ratificar el liderazgo en material laboral en el rubro.
La tienda se ubicará en la esquina de las calles Córdoba y General Paz, en un punto clave del centro de la ciudad. El punto de venta tendrá aproximadamente 830 metros cuadrados y 750 metros cuadrados de cocheras, con 12 cajas y variadas categorías en las góndolas.
Además, ofrecerá rotisería y tendrá el ya habitual Cali Bar, “una propuesta importante en todas las sucursales”, según definió Cáceres.
En paralelo, el grupo tiene en marcha remodelaciones y mejoras en las otras siete bocas de California y en las otras banderas de la compañía. “Estamos cambiando los pisos, las heladeras, las exhibidoras de frío y mejorando todas las sucursales”, detalló el representante de la cadena.
El grupo además opera con las banderas de Impulso, Cáceres y Pajarito, con una fuerte presencia en la región del NEA y un total de 27 bocas en la zona, entre las distintas cadenas-. Con respecto a los otros supermercados, Cáceres afirmó que por el momento no tienen en carpeta inauguraciones en Formosa, Chaco o Corrientes, pero siempre están atentos a nuevos proyectos.
Asimismo, el ejecutivo se refirió a la demanda en la región. “El consumo se está recuperando algo en el NEA, pero siempre falta. Por eso estamos tratando de crear otras propuestas para seguir estando en el mercado, como la rotisería, tener la mejor carne y los mejores precios, fundamental para traccionar volúmenes”, explicó Pilo.
Supermercados California nació en junio de 1957 como una casa que vendía electrodomésticos, un rubro en pleno auge en el Estados Unidos de posguerra. Por eso el local tomó el nombre de ese estado norteamericano. Estaba ubicado en la Galería Mutinelli, en el mismo lugar donde hoy está su sucursal principal, sobre la calle Córdoba.
En 1963 se transformó en un supermercado y desde entonces, no paró de crecer y consolidarse como una marca principal de la vida de los misioneros. California tiene 7 locales, todos situados en Posadas, y está entre los mayores empleadores privados de la provincia junto a Crucero del Norte y Arauco Argentina.
La historia de los Cáceres nació hace más de 70 años, surgida del espíritu emprendedor de Don Juan Bautista Cáceres, quien arrancó en Formosa en la década del 50 con un almacén de ramos generales. La actividad comercial fue continuada por sus hijos, “Pilo” y “Nene”, quienes a fuerza de trabajo y constancia lograron crecer y consolidarse en la región. Primero en Formosa, luego en Corrientes y Chaco y finalmente en Misiones.
