Colapso sanitario en los centros turísticos preferidos por los argentinos en Brasil
Florianópolis, Camboriú, Río de Janeiro, Buzios y Salvador, entre otros, viven una situación preocupante con filas en los centros médicos. Los turistas argentinos deben intentar comprar tests en farmacias con costos a partir de 22 dólares.

Florianópolis, Camboriú, Río de Janeiro, Buzios y Salvador, estos destinos preferidos de los argentinos en el verano brasileño presentan una situación sanitaria preocupante con filas en los centros médicos. Con esto en mente los turistas se ven obligados a buscar test para Covid-19 en farmacias, a un costo que parte de los 120 reales, unos 22 dólares.
Santa Catarina -el estado fronterizo con Misiones cuya capital es la isla de Florianópolis y también tiene a Camboriú, Itapema y Praia do Rosa como favoritas de los argentinos- está, según especialistas de la universidad federal local, en un momento de «descontrol de la pandemia» y es por eso que se suspendieron las vacaciones y las licencias de médicos y enfermeros de hospitales públicos. A esto se le sumó la falta de datos completos sobre Covid-19 en la base de datos del Ministerio de Salud desde el 11 de diciembre por un ataque de hackers, que impide tener la real dimensión de lo que está ocurriendo en el país, que es el segundo en número de muertes por la pandemia y el tercero en contagios del mundo.

Brasil está lidiando con una doble crisis heredada de diciembre: por un lado, un brote inédito de influenza en las principales ciudades del país y, por otro, la explosión de contagios generada por la variante Ómicron de coronavirus. A esto, además, se suma que para los brasileños la temporada más alta de sus vacaciones va del 26 de diciembre hasta el 3 de enero.
En este complejo escenario, los argentinos que viajaron a pasar sus vacaciones deben presentar certificado de dos dosis de vacunas para cruzar por tierra, más un test PCR para llegar en avión. De todas maneras, una vez en el país muchos sufren y son testigos de la mayor presión sobre el sistema público y privado de salud desde el peor mes de la pandemia, abril de 2021.

«Con filas en las unidades de salud, Santa Catarina vive un momento de descontrol de la pandemia, teniendo en cuenta que hubo una serie de aglomeraciones con las fiestas de fin de año marcada por la llegada de turistas tanto de Brasil como del exterior, con circulación de Ómicron y Influenza A H3N2«, explicó la epidemióloga Alexandra Boing, del Departamento de Salud Pública de la Universidad de Santa Catarina (UFSC).
La imagen de las playas llenas en la semana más movilizada de Brasil también se replicó en la preferidas de los argentinos: «Floripa», Canasvieras, Barra de Lagoa e Ingleses. El descontrol se evidenció en un sinfín de imágenes. Una de ellas fue el show de fin de año del popular cantante de sertanejo Gustavo Lima, quien será multado por haber tocado frente a unas 100.000 personas en el estadio Orlando Scarpelli sin cumplir los protocolos del uso de barbijo.

En paralelo, Balneario Camboriú -tal es su nombre oficial- este año expandió su franja de arena en la playa para recibir más turistas y evitar que los rascacielos de la llamada «Nueva Dubai Brasileña’ le den sombra a la orilla. Como esperaba, recibió más turistas que de costumbre.
El miércoles pasado, su sistema de atención primaria colapsó por los casos de personas con síntomas tanto de influenza como de Covid-19 y se agotaron los test en las farmacias. Pero el panorama hace días que se preveía complicado. Por eso, las principales ciudades suspendieron las fiestas callejeras de fin de año a causa de la pandemia, lo que según especialistas alimentó la organización de eventos privados y reuniones sociales sin protocolos.
Internaciones por Covid-19 en Brasil.
Río de Janeiro, la ciudad maravillosa que acaba de anunciar la suspensión del popular carnaval callejero, hizo una limitada fiesta de lanzamiento de fuegos en la playa de Copacabana -sin transporte público y barreras policiales para evitar el paso de automóviles-, pero igual vio disparar los casos de Covid-19 con Ómicron, una variante que ya representa más de la mitad de los casos registrados.
Ante este avance, las autoridades siguen imponiendo restricciones: los turistas deben presentar pasaporte de vacuna para ingresar a las atracciones clásicas de Río, como el Cristo Redentor, el morro Pan de Azúcar o el Museo do Futuro, en la zona portuaria. En tanto, en la zona turística del entorno de Río tan elegida por los argentinos -Buzios, Arraial do Cabo, Paraty e Ilha Grande-, la llegada de miles de turistas provocó un contagio masivo que agotó los jarabes y antigripales en todas las farmacias.

Una situación similar está viviendo Salvador, la capital de Bahía, y su zona de influencia como Praia do Forte o Morro de Sao Paulo. Antes se registraban 30 casos promedio diarios de coronavirus, pero saltaron a 112 el día 3 y a 111 el 4 de enero, número que se cree está subestimado debido a la falta de test.
Fortaleza, la capital de Ceará, adonde se debe llegar para ir a las paradisíacas playas de Jericoacara o Canoa Quebrada, es otro caso. El índice de positivos era del 1% hasta el 5 de diciembre, pero un mes después el centro de testeos del aeropuerto vio un aumento del 11% y la terminal de micros del 20%. En una reciente crónica, el diario Folha de Sao Paulo reflejó los casos de turistas internos brasileños que pasaron el Fin de Año en otras ciudades y volvieron, sabiendo que eran positivos de Covid-19, a sus casas, pasando horas en aeropuertos, aviones y colectivos, todos espacios cerrados.
