La bajante del Río Paraná impacta de lleno sobre la actividad en el Gran Rosario y por ello la carga promedio de los buques se ubicó en el menor tonelaje desde que se llevan registros.
Según la Bolsa de Comercio de Rosario (BCR) durante enero pasaron por esos puertos más de 160 buques para cargas de granos, harinas y aceites vegetales. La carga de estos barcos promedió 29.084 toneladas, casi un 11% por debajo de la carga promedio de enero del 2021. “El tonelaje promedio de buques en enero fue la más baja de la que se tenga registro”, indica un informe de la BCR.
Para el caso puntual del cultivo de maíz, en agosto del año pasado se había registrado una carga promedio de 28.400 toneladas. Para ese producto en ese momento la entidad mencionó que se trataba “del número más bajo en al menos tres años”.

Según el reporte, la escasez de lluvias en la región, en un contexto de un segundo año Niña consecutivo, viene impulsando una pronunciada bajante del río Paraná. En enero de este año hubo una altura promedio de -0,15 metros, el registro más bajo en 77 años.
En tanto, para lo que va de febrero la altura está muy por debajo respecto de lo que exhibía en el mismo mes del año pasado. En tanto, en su informe la BCR advierte que más allá de que hubiera una mejora la carga promedio podría bajar por debajo de las 28.000 toneladas.
Debido a la bajante del Paraná, las empresas exportadoras pasaron a completar la carga de buques en los puertos del sur bonaerense, como Bahía Blanca y Quequén. Por Quequén pasaron el año pasado, por ejemplo, 39 buques más que en 2020.
