ATENCION | Se dispararon las denuncias por estafas con la app Naranja X en Misiones
Desde la Dirección de Comercio Interior de Misiones informaron que reciben unas diez denuncias por día de usuarios misioneros de Tarjeta Naranja por estafas virtuales a través de WhatsApp.
La oficina depende del Ministerio de Acción Cooperativa, Comercio e Integración y bajo su órbita funciona Defensa del Consumidor.
La dirección advirtió a la población de estas actividades ilegales, que derivan en que los titulares pierdan el dinero depositado en su billetera virtual, o bien que, a través de la obtención de sus datos bancarios, los delincuentes obtengan préstamos no autorizados.
“Pasamos de no tener denuncias a que aparezcan hasta diez por día, lo cual nos habla de que están actuando con mecanismos bien aceitados”, dijo el director Alejandro Garzón Maceda, quien agregó que la toda la información recabada fue remitida al Consejo Federal de Consumo.
Desde ese organismo, se desarrolla una operación simultánea en todo el país.
“Nosotros, que no teníamos casos, pasamos a recibir denuncias todos los días: casos de denuncias porque les vaciaron la caja de ahorro; hay contadores, abogados, ingenieros y universitarios, hasta comerciantes y les hacen el cuento del tío”, explicó el funcionario.
“No estamos hablando sólo de personas que no prestan atención y se descuidan, sino que a veces estas aplicaciones directamente no reúnen los requisitos de seguridad necesarios para proteger al consumidor”, lanzó Garzón Maceda.
Según el director, “cualquier usuario de home banking está expuesto, sólo el que no lo usa puede estar a salvo”. Sin embargo, el 70% de la población utiliza el sistema digital y tiene todos sus datos cargados online.
Modus operandi
En las redes sociales se pueden encontrar numerosas denuncias públicas de usuarios que, con capturas de pantallas, reflejan el accionar de los estafadores.
En todos los casos, el modus operandi es el mismo: un supuesto operador de Tarjeta Naranja se contacta con el usuario para comunicarle que se ha solicitado un préstamo a su nombre, que se ha registrado una compra o que cualquier otra operación extraña.
Entonces, el falso representante de la empresa le solicita datos al titular, o bien le indica que, para dejar sin efecto el movimiento irregular de sus cuentas, se debe realizar algún trámite vía telefónica u online. Para ello, se deben entregar datos que luego se utilizan para vaciar las cuentas, efectuar compras o sacar créditos.
“Se trata de una debilidad en el sistema de seguridad”, aseguró el director de Comercio Interior, y explicó que, más atrás en el tiempo, “si el usuario de la tarjeta veía una compra que no hizo simplemente la desconocía”.
No obstante, desde el arribo de las billeteras virtuales, “es mucho más complicado, porque sacan un crédito a nombre de la persona y el dinero se lo levantan al instante”.
“Lo que nos cuentan en las denuncias es que -a partir de la aparición de la app Naranja X- es todo mucho más vulnerable. No sólo pueden hacer una compra con tu cuenta o sacar un préstamo, sino que también pueden acceder a la cuenta bancaria de la billetera y vaciarla”, advirtió Garzón Maceda, en diálogo con el diario Primera Edición.
