El presidente Alberto Fernández aseguró que les había ofrecido a los jugadores de la Selección celebrar el Campeonato del Mundo en Casa Rosada, pero el plantel rechazó la posibilidad porque estaba muy cansado después de la final y del viaje desde Qatar.

“Hay muchas especulaciones. Yo soy un futbolero consumado y la verdad es que veo las cosas de otra manera. Yo sabía que los jugadores tenían un nivel de agotamiento muy grande y querían una celebración relatiamente breve. Yo le hice saber a la AFA que si ellos querían tenían la Casa Rosada a disposición de los jugadores, pero ellos eligieron otra cosa”, aseguró Fernández en un reportaje concedido al periodista Reynaldo Sietecase en radio Con Vos.

El jefe de Estado aseguró que no se siente ofendido por la actitud de los futbolistas porque ninguno lo agavió ni le dijo algo impropio. “Si la decisión estuvo vinculada a no involucrar el fútbol con la política, me encanta”, puntualizó. No obstante aclaró que la invitación a los deportistas no era partidaria, sino desde su rol institucional como presidente de todos los argentinas.

En otro tramo de la entrevista, se definió como “el Presidente de las tres copas” en alusión a las victorias en la Copa América, la Finalíssima contra Italia y el Campeonato del Mundo. “Además del presidente de las tres copas, soy el presidente desde Néstor hasta acá que hizo crecer a Argentina durante tres años consecutivos en el medio de todos los que nos pasó”, planteó.

Ayer, la selección argentina realizó una caravana para festejar el camepenato del mundo con los hinchas que los esperaban en las calles. El trayecto fue interrumpido por organismos de seguridad que no podían garantizar que se realizara todo el recorrido previsto sin incidentes. El Gobierno pretendía que los futbolistas visitaran la Casa Rosada y saludaran desde el histórico balcón, pero la AFA se negó. El plantel había discutido la cuestión y había decidio no politizar el logro deportivo.

Los accesos y el centro porteño se desbordaron de millones de personas que querían saludar a los campeones. Por ese motivo, el Ministerio de Seguridad decidió cortar abruptamente la movilización terrestre y trasladó a los jugadores en helicópteros para que pudieran observar la cantidad de gente que había en las calles esperándolos. Esta mañana, Aníbal Fernández apuntó contra el presidente de la AFA, Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia, por los problemas en la coordinación del operativo fallido. A diferencia del funcionario, el mandatario evitó apuntar contra el dirigente deportivo.

Alberto Fernández contestó además las críticas por su decisión de haber decretado un feriado nacional para recibir a la Selección. “Me criticaron mucho, pero yo quería que todos fueran a festejar; no existen los feriados parciales, podía hacerlo en una ciudad sí y en otra no, además seguramente muchos rosarinos deben haber estado celebrando en el Monumento a la Bandera; ¿no tenían derecho a hacerlo?”, preguntó.
