La «Vigilia por Malvinas» congregará a una multitud en la ciudad de Río Grande
En vísperas del 40° aniversario del inicio de la guerra con Gran Bretaña en 1982 y tras dos años en que la asistencia al evento estuvo restringida por la pandemia de coronavirus, una multitud volverá a acompañar a los veteranos durante la noche previa al 2 de abril, a orillas del Mar Argentino.
Tras dos años de pandemia, la tradicional «Vigilia por Malvinas» -el evento multitudinario previsto en Tierra del Fuego para recordar el 40° aniversario del inicio de la guerra con Gran Bretaña en 1982- volverá a realizarse el próximo viernes en la ciudad de Río Grande, en vísperas del Día del Veterano y de los Caídos en el conflicto, con la presencia de excombatientes y funcionarios.
«Esta vigilia significa el reconocimiento eterno a nuestros camaradas, a quienes jamás olvidaremos«, dijo en diálogo con Télam el presidente del Centro de Veteranos de Guerra de Río Grande, Raúl Villafañe, agrupación que organiza la ceremonia.
Después de dos años en que la asistencia al evento estuvo restringida por la pandemia de coronavirus, una multitud volverá a acompañar a los veteranos durante la noche previa al 2 de abril, a orillas del Mar Argentino y frente al Monumento a los Héroes, el punto continental más cercano a las islas, ubicadas a casi 600 kilómetros de la ciudad fueguina.
«Tenemos muchas expectativas y alegría por estar de vuelta con la ciudadanía, que lleva a los caídos muy adentro del corazón», agregó Villafañe sobre la ceremonia que llegó a reunir a más de 10 mil personas en ediciones anteriores, uno de los motivos por los que Río Grande fue declarada en 2013 como la «Capital Nacional de la Vigilia por Malvinas».
Cómo surge la vigilia
En la ciudad fue inaugurada el sábado la llamada «Carpa de la Dignidad», dando inicio a la «Semana de Malvinas», que incluye numerosas actividades: una maratón atlética, una travesía acuática, una obra teatral, una muestra artística, un conversatorio y finalizará con la vigilia.
Esta conmemoración, que comenzó en 1995 cuando un pequeño grupo de excombatientes se juntaron a compartir anécdotas y recuerdos en vísperas de aquél 2 de abril, tiene mucha relevancia en la sociedad riograndense y de las localidades aledañas.
«La Vigilia se hace en Río Grande por la cercanía a las islas, pero también por el pueblo», detalló Villafañe y remarcó que los habitantes estuvieron «muy compenetrados en la guerra» y contribuyeron al accionar militar albergando a soldados y pilotos hasta su embarque hacia las islas ocupadas por el Reino Unido desde 1833.
Además, el excombatiente subrayó que «gran parte de los soldados y los aviones salían de acá», en referencia al rol estratégico y militar que tuvo la base aeronaval de la ciudad, que cumplió un rol de «portaviones natural» durante el conflicto, una razón por la que estuvo al borde de ser atacada por la flota británica en cuatro oportunidades.
Estos fueron algunos de los motivos que hicieron que la Cámara de Diputados declarase en 2021 a Río Grande como «Ciudad heroica».
Cronograma del evento
Como todos los años, la «Vigilia por Malvinas» comenzará el viernes 1 de abril por la noche con distintas instancias, todas expresadas en un cronograma al que accedió Télam.
A las 20, en la «Carpa de la dignidad», el cura párroco oficiará una misa para todos los presentes.
Acto seguido, a las 21.30, se realizará un ingreso de 40 antorchas por la «Rotonda del avión», rememorando a los 649 soldados argentinos caídos en combate.
A las 22.30 se realizará frente al Monumento a los Héroes la simulación del desembarco de la «Operación Rosario» a cargo del Batallón de Infantería de Marina N°5 (BIM5), un movimiento táctico militar a través del que el gobierno de facto argentino recuperó brevemente la soberanía de las islas, declarando así la guerra contra el Reino Unido.
Después del simulacro, el BIM5 también hará una presentación de escuadra de desfile frente al Monumento a los Héroes.
A las 23 se presentará el grupo de danzas folclóricas «Soles que dejan huella», a cargo del profesor Santiago Soto.
Una vez terminada la performance artística comenzará el acto de la vigilia con un toque de sirenas, la locución de un texto alusivo, un minuto de silencio y el disparo de salva en homenaje a los héroes.
Para finalizar la vigilia, el Sindicato de Petróleo y Gas Privado preparará un «Locro malvinero» para todos los presentes.
Figuras políticas que participarán
Si bien no está confirmada, se espera la asistencia del presidente Alberto Fernández; el gobernador fueguino Gustavo Melella; el ministro de Defensa, Jorge Taiana; el intendente de Río Grande, Martín Pérez; y el secretario de Malvinas, Antártida y Atlántico Sur, Guillermo Carmona.
Por su parte, en la ciudad de Ushuaia también se llevarán a cabo diferentes actividades previas al 2 de abril.
El Centro de Ex Combatientes está preparando un monumento con una «Cápsula del tiempo» para enterrar cartas de exsoldados y sus familiares hasta 2082.
El acto central por el 40 aniversario se llevará a cabo en la capital fueguina el 2 de abril a la mañana, con la presencia de autoridades provinciales y nacionales.
Tierra del Fuego ya puso en vigencia numerosas iniciativas reivindicatorias de la soberanía argentina sobre el archipiélago, como la ley que obliga a los alumnos primarios y secundarios a llevar un logo de Malvinas en el guardapolvos y la emisión de una serie especial de tarjetas de débito del Banco de Tierra del Fuego con una imagen del mapa de las islas.
