Guerra Rusia-Ucrania: Putin le pidió ayuda militar a China
GUERRA RUSIA-UCRANIA Estados Unidos advirtió que una posible colaboración entre Rusia y China podría acrecentar el conflicto bélico con Ucrania.
Rusia le solicitó a China apoyo militar para respaldar su invasión a Ucrania, según aseguraron funcionarios estadounidenses al medio británico Financial Times. En este sentido, el Kremlin habría pedido equipo militar y otro tipo de asistencia desde el comienzo de la invasión, el 24 de febrero.
Al respecto, algunos indicios mostrarían que el país oriental estaría dispuesto a ayudar a Rusia, por lo que Estados Unidos se prepara para advertir a la OTAN sobre este hecho.
A su vez, funcionarios estadounidenses dijeron que el ejército de Vladimir Putin se está quedando sin armamento a medida que la guerra en Ucrania se extiende a su tercera semana.
Washington le advirtió a Beijing que no intente “rescatar” a Rusia o “habrá consecuencias”. A raíz de este nuevo escenario, el asesor de seguridad nacional de Estados Unidos, Jake Sullivan, mantendrá este lunes una reunión con Yang Jiechi, el principal funcionario de política exterior de China, en Roma (Italia).
El encuentro se centrará en “esfuerzos para manejar la competencia entre nuestros dos países y hablar del impacto de la guerra de Rusia contra Ucrania en la seguridad regional y global”, declaró Emily Horne, hablando en nombre del Consejo de Seguridad Nacional de la Casa Blanca.
“Nos aseguraremos de que ni China ni nadie más pueda compensar a Rusia por estas pérdidas”, dijo Sullivan a NBC. “Es una preocupación para nosotros y le hemos dejado claro a Pekín que no nos quedaremos de brazos cruzados y no dejaremos que ningún país compense las pérdidas de Rusia por las sanciones económicas. Absolutamente, habrá consecuencias en el caso de acciones significativas destinadas a eludir las sanciones”, aclaró.
Al respecto del conflicto, Pekín no solo nunca condenó la invasión Rusa contra Ucrania, sino que en repetidas situaciones responsabilizó a la “expansión hacia el este” de la OTAN por el recrudecimiento de las tensiones entre Kiev y Moscú.
Las conversaciones programadas para el lunes en Italia “son parte de los esfuerzos continuos para mantener una línea abierta de comunicación” entre China y Estados Unidos, sostuvo Horne.
Acerca de la supuesta presencia de armas químicas en Ucrania
A su vez, Estados Unidos acusó a China de difundir «fake news» sobre que Ucrania tiene laboratorios de armas químicas y biológicas gracias a la ayuda norteamericana. En este sentido, el portavoz del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de China, Zhao Lijian, afirmó que había 26 laboratorios biológicos e instalaciones relacionadas en «los cuales el Departamento de Defensa de Estados Unidos tiene el control absoluto».
Naciones Unidas dijo que no recibió información que respalde tales acusaciones, reportó AP. En contraposición, funcionarios en Washington afirmaron que esta puede ser una estrategia para justificar un posible ataque nuclear ruso sobre suelo ucraniano.
En palabras exactas, Sullivan expresó que cuando Rusia empieza a acusar a otros países de estar preparándose para lanzar ataques biológicos o químicos, «es buen indicio de que se están preparando para hacer eso mismo«. En concordancia, la secretaria de prensa de la Casa Blanca, Jen Psaki, calificó de «absurdas» estas afirmaciones.
