El actor conocido por éxitos en televisión como «Poné a Francella» y «Casados con hijos» o en cine con «El secreto de sus ojos» o «Animal» vuelve esta vez a través de una plataforma con «Granizo», dirigida Marcos Carnevale, con la historia de un meteorólogo de televisión que pasa del podio al abucheo por un error.

Guillermo Francella interpreta a Miguel Flores en «Granizo», comedia que se estrena este miércoles en Netflix donde asume a un exitoso meteorólogo al que se le viene el mundo y la fama encima y que debe lidiar con las redes sociales, el ataque del público y el avance de las redes sociales sobre la profesión, algo que el intérprete asegura que pasa en los castings.
«En los castings preguntan a los actores cuántos seguidores tienen y son elegidos en muchas ocasiones por ese motivo, como si eso generara convocatoria en una novela o película. Hay casos puntuales, sin dar nombres, que no pasó nada, no va ni un espectador a verlo», dijo Francella en una entrevista con Télam, en la que sostuvo: «Eso me parece terrorífico».

Al revés de lo que suele suceder, no fue el director de la cinta, Marcos Carnevale, quien le acercó «Granizo» al actor para que le pusiera la piel a Flores, sino que fue todo lo contrario. «Nicolás Giacobone me lo ofreció, cuando filmaba ‘Animal’ con Armandito Bo. Me contó la historia de este meteorólogo que estaba escribiendo, me dio el libro y me gustó, me gustaban varias cosas que me parecieron muy interesantes para la época actual. Tenía un montón de cosas que me parecían piolas y pensé en Marcos».

El personaje de Flores está en la cúspide de la ola. A cargo del servicio meteorológico desde hace 20 años, el canal le ofrece tener su propio programa en el prime time. Sin embargo, en esa primera emisión, «El infalible», como se autodefine, anuncia una apacible noche veraniega, que se se ve sacudida por un granizo furioso. Al otro día, debe enfrentarse con un mundo que lo culpa por las pérdidas materiales y él decide escabullirse a Córdoba, donde tiene una hija a la que hace tiempo no visita.
Télam: Al comienzo de la película, Miguel parece estar muy feliz, pero tiene un audio de su hija que no escucha. Ya desde la primera escena queda marcada una dualidad en el personaje, ¿no?
Guillermo Francella: Es que está muy feliz, no te lo olvides. Va a debutar en el prime time de la televisión argentina con un programa que en la vida se llevó a cabo, un show meteorológico. Él siente que nada lo tiene que distraer, la hija lo llama para firmar una escritura de la casa de Córdoba, él hace un montón que no va a Córdoba, su familia se desmembró. Hay cierta frialdad en la relación con la hija. Entiendo a nivel racional, si no me acompañara mi esposa y mis hijos a lo largo de mi vida no hubiera sido lo mismo, pero él en base a la tragedia de su esposa se acostumbró. Está medio corrido de la realidad, habla con el pececito como si fuera el hijo y viene contento a decirle lo que midió el programa a la noche.. tiene una cosita en el balero bastante patética, está un poquito corrido. Pero bueno, me pareció un universo muy atractivo para transitarlo como intérprete.
T: Sin embargo, Miguel le da mucha importancia a las relaciones humanas, como con Maxi, sus asistente, o mismo con el público.
GF: Sí, tal cual. Y qué pasa con el éxito, por ejemplo, esa cosa tan efímera que genera el éxito. Hay una frase de la hija que me seduce mucho: «¿Te das cuenta que no te quiere la gente, pa? Parecía que te quería, pero era todo una mentira, cuando te equivocaste y tuviste un traspié te convertiste en un meme». Que algo desafortunado o políticamente incorrecto o una equivocación en un diagnóstico de un meteorólogo te genere esta cancelación, este odio, este escrache y quererlo muerto es algo con lo que no comulgo en lo más mínimo, odio profundamente esto nuevo. Después, el vínculo con la hija, el éxito lo llevó a ser abandónico, el ego de tener un micro de cinco minutos en un noticiero a un programa del prime time, todo lo que lleva el éxito y de golpe se quedó sin nada y reinventar de nuevo la historia con su hija.
T: También hay algo de cómo la frustración de uno se vuelca en los demás.
GF: Es verdad, es así, confiaban en Miguel Flores. El personaje de Peto Menahem se lo dice en la cara, va con el matafuegos en la mano y le dice «yo confié en vos» y Miguel le contesta: «Fallé, me equivoqué, no lo vi». Él está muy preocupado porque es un tipo estudioso, él al barman cordobés le dice «el dolor más grande mío es que el granizo lo pude no haber visto, pero la lluvia la tendría que haber visto». Él está amargado, se siente culpable, pero no para este estado de linchamiento público.
T: Miguel tiene un ego muy grande. Te lo pregunto como actor con bastante éxito, ¿cómo compensás el ego con el éxito?
GF: El ego no tiene por qué ser abandónico. Yo llevo 40 años de carrera y gozando de muchísimo éxito a lo largo de toda mi vida artística, tengo una vida anónima y una vida popular y pude conciliar ambos mundos sin reñir. No tuve que reñir en lo más mínimo, nunca falté a un acto escolar ni dejé de estar presente en alguna reunión para mis hijos y lo he sido hasta que son grandes y toda mi vida fui igual, muy presente siempre. Y te digo que lo que vivió Miguel Flores lo empezó a vivir hace un ratito, porque es exitoso hace un tiempo. Yo llevo décadas viviendo lo que él vive y cosas hermosísimas que uno vive y me emociona, porque al día de hoy todavía no dejo de asombrarme todo lo que vivo en la calle de gente antagónica entre sí, heterogénea socialmente, culturalmente, niños, abuelos, mujer, hombre y me sigue pasando, y no tuve mis conflictos. Tal vez del ego puede ser que lo tenga y no lo perciba, pero no que sea un impedimento para tener un vínculo con mi familia.
T: También es un personaje sensible. No busca el éxito a cualquier costa, como sí el productor (Martín Seefeld), que se pone contento por el rating, sin importar si es por la caída de un teleférico.
GF: Claro, está contento porque le deja mayor encendido y Miguel no lo puede creer. El director de programación le dice a Miguel: «Tenés el programa, lo que vos quieras, Los Palmeras y el globo terráqueo, pero acordate que el tema del clima es una excusa y tenemos que entretener». Y es verdad, se enfrascó tanto en ese tema que no entretuvo tanto y encima cometió ese error garrafal pobre que le provocó esto.
