Un tren de larga distancia con cerca de 500 pasajeros a bordo se descarriló este martes ―8 de marzo― a unos 350 km al sudeste de Buenos Aires, con un saldo de 17 heridos leves, informaron las autoridades.
“Recibimos en nuestro Hospital Municipal a 17 personas con heridas leves. Tres de ellas con fracturas, ninguna reviste heridas de gravedad. Todos están siendo atendidos por nuestro equipo de salud”, tuiteó Ezequiel Galli, alcalde de Olavarría, una ciudad cercana al lugar del accidente.
Agregó que un hombre de 40 años sufrió “un traumatismo encéfalo craneal” quien fue atendido en el Hospital Municipal.
Según el funcionario, los heridos, entre los que se encuentran tres niños, presentaron algunas fracturas, cortes y contusiones.
El tren se dirigía desde la capital argentina hasta la ciudad de Bahía Blanca (650 km al sur) y el accidente se produjo a las 5:20 a. m. hora local a la altura de Olavarría, “por causas que se desconocen y están siendo investigadas”, señaló en Twitter la empresa estatal Trenes Argentinos, que aclaró que el tendido de las vías es operado por la empresa de cargas privadaFerroExpreso Pampeano.
“Descarrilaron los primeros cinco vagones”, dijo Galli. Uno de los coches quedó volcado sobre el terreno.

Al lugar del incidente se desplazaron cuatro máquinas de bomberos y varias ambulancias del Same y policía bonaerense.
Por redes sociales se conocieron imágenes de la manera como quedó el tren tras el incidente: “Descarriló un tren en Pourtalé a 10 km de Olavarría. Hay al menos 17 heridos, tres con fracturas y el resto con contusiones leves. La formación se dirigía desde Buenos Aires a Bahía Blanca. Iba completo con casi 500 pasajeros abordo”, informó Diario de Gonnet.

Desde la cuenta oficial en Twitter de Trenes Argentinos del Ministerio de Transporte de Argentina informó que “a las 5:20 de hoy, martes 8/03, el tren 333 que une Plaza Constitución y Bahía Blanca descarriló al sur de la localidad de Olavarría por causas que se desconocen y están siendo investigadas”.

Agregó que “la atención está siendo realizada por nuestro personal junto con la policía y bomberos. Hasta el momento, se registran 20 heridos leves (código verde) según los datos brindados por el Dr. Héctor M. Cura del Hospital municipal de Olavarría”.

“Se escuchó una frenada fuerte y después una vibración. No nos dimos cuenta de la magnitud de lo que había pasado hasta cuando salimos y pudimos ver, fue terrible”, le dijo Marco al medio local Infoeme.
Según contó, debieron permanecer dos horas arriba de la formación siniestrada hasta poder salir.
