Proponen lanzar billetes de $2.000 a $20.000 para ahorrar unos u$s400 millones en impresiones

Federico Angelini, diputado nacional por el PRO, presentó un pedido al Poder Ejecutivo y al Banco Central a emitir billetes desde $2.000 a $20.000 con la intención de reducir los costos del estado y ahorrar 400 millones de dólares.
La resolución fue ingresada el 1 de febrero y tiene la firma de 22 diputados nacionales en su mayoría del PRO, de la Coalición Cívica, UCR y un diputado de Avanzar San Luis. Angelini argumentó que «la caída del valor de compra del billete de máxima denominación tiene consecuencias que van más allá de la inflación y representan una erogación muy importante para bancos, instituciones financieras, comercios, empresas y pymes, generando costos de logística, seguridad, tiempo y espacio».
De esta forma, el diputado explicó que cuando comenzó a circular el billete de $1000, en diciembre de 2017 equivalía u$s57 según el tipo de cambio oficial en ese entonces. «Cuatro año después, equivale a u$s9,61 y si tomamos el contado con liquidación, rondaba los U$S 4,09 al 31 de enero pasado», puntualizó. Para Angelini, «un billete de tan poco valor en términos de poder de compra representa un costo mayor para el Estado a la hora de emitir. Esta propuesta permitiría un ahorro de entre 300 y 400 millones de dólares”, remarcó.
Uno de los firmantes es Gerardo Millman, quien también había propuesto una iniciativa similar el año pasado pero a través de un proyecto de ley donde proponía la emisión de billetes de $2.000, $5.000 y $10.000. A esta iniciativa, también se le unió Ricardo López Murphy en octubre del año pasado con una definición más dura al calificar al billete como «papel pintado».
«Nosotros le quitamos a la moneda en los últimos 50 años 13 ceros y probablemente le quitemos próximamente 3 ceros más. Cada cero es 1000% de devaluación», continuó, y advirtió que «si uno emite billetes de 5 dólares, el costo de emitir esa cantidad es inmenso, vamos a tener que emitir más de 1.000 millones de billetes», concluyó.
