El gobernador de Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés, confirmó esta tarde que en el territorio local ya no existe ningún foco de incendio. Tras más de un mes de registrarse diversos focos en distintos puntos de la provincia, el fuego consumió casi 1.000.000 de hectáreas, un 11% de la superficie total.
“¡Excelentes noticias!”, anunció Valdés en el inicio de su comunicado a través de un posteo en su cuenta oficial en Twitter. “Tras más de dos meses de sequía, volvió a llover en Corrientes y la provincia ya no cuenta con NINGÚN foco de incendio activo”, aseguró el gobernador local.
Los incendios habían iniciado en la provincia a mediados de eneroy desde hace semanas intervenían numerosas unidades de bomberos y brigadistas llegados desde distintos puntos del país e incluso desde el exterior. A su vez, en su posteo en la red social, el gobernador local admitió que el de los incendios no es un problema completamente superado. “Aun así, seguimos monitoreando la evolución de la situación”, aclaró en el cierre de su comunicado.
Días atrás, el cuarto informe realizado por el INTA Corrientes, con datos aportados por el Grupo de Recursos Naturales de la Estación Experimental Agropecuaria local, señaló que al 21 de febrero pasado ya eran 934.238 las hectáreas afectadas por los incendios, lo que mostró que el 11 % de superficie de la provincia había sido afectada por el fuego.
Luego, también en horas de la tarde, Valdés despidió públicamente a un grupo de trabajo llegados desde otras provincias. “Despedimos a los miembros del Equipo Técnico de Acción ante Catástrofes de Córdoba, así como también a los brigadistas de Jujuy que vinieron a nuestra provincia a combatir los distintos focos de incendio. ¡Muchas gracias a todos por su gran labor y compromiso!”, manifestó.Desde la semana pasada, las lluvias llevaron alivio a la provincia pero no habían logrado dar por finalizado el escenario de incendios, algo que sí sucedió esta primera semana del mes, según precisó el gobernador local.
“El frente de tormenta permitió precipitaciones en Santo Tomé, Ituzaingó y Virasoro, en Corrientes. Allí los radares meteorológicos registraron en las últimas horas caída de lluvias, lo cual es bueno para finalizar con la emergencia extrema que fueron los fuegos registrados.Así terminamos con los focos ígneos, pero no todavía con la sequía, que fue muy extrema y va a necesitar aún una gradual reposición de los balances hídricos en los suelos, para incrementar el agua superficial. La provincia de Corrientes tiene cerca de un 40% de tierra cubierta con agua, y hoy es menos del 15% debido a la sequía que sufre la región desde hace tres años”, explicó hoy en diálogo con Infobae Pablo Mercuri, director del Centro de Recursos Naturales del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA).
Por otro lado, el especialista del INTA comentó que “en Monte Caseros, se registraron lluvias de más de 60 milímetros sobre la ribera del Río Uruguay. Son datos parciales porque continúan. Pero también dispares, ya que en Mercedes cayeron 3 milímetros, una localidad del centro correntino que había recibido muy poca precipitación con muchas zonas próximas a los Esteros del Iberá, que tuvo muchos eventos de fuego”.
El viernes pasado, el Presidente Alberto Fernández recorrió en helicóptero las zonas más castigadas por los incendios. Luego estuvo en el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias que montó el Gobierno en una escuela rural en el departamento correntino de San Miguel, cerca de los focos activos. Aquel día estuvo acompañado por el gobernador local y el de Misiones, Oscar Herrera Ahuad; y otros tres ministros, además de Juan Cabandié (Ambiente).
